A hex-based cards-game about building your city next to Vesuvius - the volcano that ended ancient Pompeii.

Made Within 7 Days for the Godot Wild Jam 79 with the theme 'Growing' and the wild card "One Handed - you only need one hand to play".

How to Play

Buildings and Resources

  • Grow your kingdom by using cards to place buildings.
  • Buildings generate resources at regular intervals.
  • Accumulate resources to construct buildings with higher yields.
  • Get free building cards when a new day rises!

Eruptions

  • Vesuvius erupts frequently, causing things to light up on fire.
  • Extinguish the fires or let them spread in order to clear areas.
  • Extinguishing fires generates faith.
  • Race against the clock! - Eventually the volcano will totally erupt and destroy everything.

Faith

  • Faith is a special resource that can be used to buy cards from the Shop.
  • Only rare buildings generate faith!
  • Rare buildings' cards have a blue border.

Score Increases by

  • Placing buildings.
  • Placing rare buildings.
  • Extinguishing fires.
  • Gathering resources.
  • Surviving.

Get the highest score possible before the Vesuvius erupts!

Controls

Mouse Only

  • Left click on cards to enter build mode
  • Right click to exit build mode
  • Left click on card while in build mode to exit build mode
  • Optional: press 'C' to toggle the CRT  effect
  • Left click on fires to extinguish them

Thank you!
I used a TileMapLayer node to create the levels manually. When the game starts, it reads the TileMapLayer's data and creates the tiles, which are Node2Ds.
